Other US Coins
Coins in the Other U.S. Coins category may be the most varied of any category. From well-known classics like the Morgan Dollar, to obscure commemoratives, you never know what you may find in this category. Some of them are certainly older than others, and some may be issues fresh from the Mint. There are classic coins or modern issues for every collector, whether you want to build your collection on a budget or build the most valuable collection possible.
One of the most popular types of these coins are those Pre-1933 U.S. Gold pieces. These gold coins have been the subject of many debates over the years, but there are plenty of great options here to add to your collection. Prior to 1933, gold coins were issued in $20, $10, $5, $4, $3, $2.50, and $1 denominations. One advantage of pre-1933 gold coins is that the larger denominations can often be found in high grades since they weren't used as much as the smaller coins.
Morgan Dollars are an all-time favorite amongst collectors and are extremely popular for good reason. Some years with high mintages have created affordable Mint State Morgans, but low mintage figures and other factors have created some extremely rare and valuable coins, like the 1893-S. After the Morgan dollar, there was the Peace Dollar. While Peace Dollars haven't enjoyed the same level of popularity and fanaticism as the Morgan dollar, it's highly collectable and key dates can be quite valuable. The Peace Dollar was the last 90% silver dollar intended for circulation in the U.S. Other Dollars are also included, along with Presidential Dollars.
Half Dollars have a lot to offer collectors. Older designs can be very valuable, and even the relatively recent Walking Liberty Half Dollars have quite a following. There are many other choices among this category as well. You can choose from Quarters, Dimes, Nickels, Cents, and other fractional U.S. coinage from times past. Classic Commemoratives and Colonial Coins are where you can find some of the most interesting issues.
Many of these U.S. coins offered by MCM have been graded by a reputable third-party grading service such as NGC or PCGS. This adds an additional amount of confidence in not only the grade, but also the authenticity of the coin.
