US Coins in Gold, Silver & Platinum

US Coins from the United States Mint are coveted by collectors and bullion buyers alike. A wide variety of silver, gold and platinum coins have been struck by the U.S. Mint since production began in the early 1790s. Some coins were for circulation, others were just for collectors, but today practically every U.S. coin is collected.

American coins are some of the most collectable in the world. Take the American Silver Eagle for example. While other countries around the world may produce several thousand to 1,000,000 or so of their silver bullion coins, production of the Silver Eagle has already been in the 30,000,000 to 40,000,000 range for years. Check out the Proof Silver Eagles for something to add to your collection, or Bullion Silver Eagles for something to add to your stack. U.S. Silver Coins are some of the finest and most in-demand without a doubt.

U.S. Gold Coins are very collectable as well. While the American Gold Eagle began primarily as a bullion coin, there are a number of Gold Eagles with significant numismatic value. The American Gold Buffalo hasn't been around for as long as the Gold Eagle, but is highly collectable. Gold Buffalos are made of even finer gold than the American Gold Eagle. American Platinum Eagles aren't seen as often as their gold and silver counterparts and have plenty of collectable value due to their low mintage figures. US Platinum Eagles are also an ideal way to own physical platinum.

A variety of other U.S. gold coins are produced by the Mint, such as the First Spouse Gold series and a number of gold modern commemoratives. The First Spouse series was made with collectors in mind and the low mintage figures give them even more appeal. In recent years, the America the Beautiful series of 5 oz. silver coins has really taken off. These are the only large precious metal coins made by the U.S. Mint at this time, and the size of them allows you to appreciate the incredible designs that much more.

American Modern Commemoratives come in a variety of sizes, metals, and designs. Commemoratives are usually silver or gold, but other metals are sometimes used. Gold commemoratives are often available in several weights when produced.

Collecting U.S. Proof and Mint Sets is a classic way to add plenty of fine coins to your collection quickly. The U.S. Mint has produced a variety of mint and proof sets over the years and we do our best to keep as many in stock as possible. U.S. Mint sets and U.S. clad proof sets are the easiest to find and are often in stock. U.S. silver proof sets don't last long when they're here, just like the scarce Prestige proof sets that are still a favorite among collectors.

In addition to US Coins, MCM also offers the collectable U.S. Currency you want. Don't let our name fool you, U.S. currency is just as collectable as U.S. coins.
