The Australian Koala has provided an annual silver series for enthusiasts, collectors and stackers since 2007. The Australian Koala silver coins are available in 1 kilo, 5 oz. and 1 oz. sizes. They are also struck in an exquisite high relief and proof versions. All Koalas have limited or lower mintages, once they are gone, they are gone!
The Gold Koala series is comprised of a 2 oz, 1 oz, high relief, 1/10 oz. and 1/25 oz. coin each struck by The Perth Mint from .9999 fine gold in proof quality. Platinum Koalas in various sizes were struck from 1988 until 2000, typically with lower mintages!
Each year there is a different image of the Koala used on the reverse of the coin. This year the Koala is perched in a Eucalyptus tree while facing left.
The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II will be updated on coins and bullion produced with the 2019 date. This is the sixth different portrait of Her Majesty featured on Australia's coins since 1952. The effigy was designed by the British Royal Mint Engraver Jody Clark and adapted from his original drawings. Her Majesty is portrayed wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem, which she wore at Her Coronation.
