To honor the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, the U.S. Mint has released their first-ever series of curved commemorative coins!
On July 20, 1969, man first walked on the surface of the moon. One of the most important events of the 20th century watched live on television by 530 million people and celebrated the following day by millions more.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, Congress has authorized the minting of special, limited-edition commemorative coins featuring a curved surface—only the second such release in the history of the U.S. Mint.
