Why add this 1903-O Morgan Silver Dollar NGC MS63 to your collection?
This 1903-O Morgan Silver Dollar gives you the opportunity to own a beautiful, mint state coin from the early 20th century. Because many 1903-O Morgans were stored in United States Treasury vaults until the 1960’s, many coins of this type survived in mint state, though high mint state grades are more difficult to find. The MS63 grade that was given to this piece by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), indicates that it has considerable eye appeal, though its original luster may be impaired. Other imperfections, such as scuff marks, may also be present. On the obverse of the coin is Liberty, a figure who frequently appears on American coinage. In this case unlike previous ones, the figure was modeled off of a woman with a distinctly American look, Anna Willess Williams, resulting in a new look for the goddess, who was previously shown in Greco-style. On the reverse, an eagle has its wings spread upwards such that they nearly touch the edge. Under the eagle is a wreath of laurel. Just under the bottom portion of the wreath is the “O” mint mark of the New Orleans Mint. Take advantage of this opportunity to add a Morgan from the Big Easy to your collection.
