Why add this 1888-O Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS64 to your collection?
This 1888-O Morgan Silver Dollar is sure to appeal to you if you love classic U.S. Silver! While over 12 million silver dollars were minted in New Orleans in 1888, fewer than 2400 have ever been given higher grades by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) than this. The design itself was named for George T. Morgan, who created it. He used the Silver Dollar to make his mark on American coinage, departing from the traditional depiction of a Greek-style Liberty in favor of an American one, which he used Anna Willess Williams to create. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap with ribbons that bears her name. On the reverse is an eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch. It is encircled by a wreath of laurel, a symbol of civilian honors. This piece is .900 pure silver and weighs 26.73g. If you are looking for a mint condition Morgan to add to your collection, this piece presents a great opportunity.
