Why purchase this roll of Philadelphia minted 2020 American Silver Eagle coins?
In response to the increased demand for precious metals during the spring 2020 coronavirus crisis, the U.S. Mint opted to augment its supply of Silver Eagle bullion coins with an Emergency Production run at the Philadelphia Mint. As a result, an exciting modern rarity was created! A total of 240,000 coins were minted, the second lowest bullion release since the series introduction in 1986. Each 2020-(P) Silver Eagle bullion coin in this roll of twenty contains 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
Artistry of the Silver Eagle by Adolph A. Weinman and John Mercanti
The obverse features the revival of the Walking Liberty image created by Weinman for the 1916 half dollar coin, depicting a timeless rendition of Lady Liberty enveloped in an American flag. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "2020" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
Mercanti's reverse design portrays an eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows. Inscribed "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," "ONE DOLLAR" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
