Why add this Silver Denarius of Roman Emperor Tiberius to your collection of ancient coins?

Tiberius began his rule of the Roman Empire in A.D. 14, during an era of peace in the Empire, but unrest in his home, due to a strained relationship with his mother, Livia. In A.D. 12, Livia forced Tiberius to leave the wife he truly loved to marry Julia, the daughter of Emperor Augustus. Augustus, then husband to Livia, and having no male children of his own, appointed Tiberius as heir. Once Emperor, Tiberius struck coinage honoring his mother as a means to avoid further conflict in the palace.
