Why add this Ancient Roman Empire Silver Denarius of Antoninus Pius to your collection?

Antoninus Pius ruled the Roman Empire from A.D. 138-161. He was fourth in the line of "Five Good Emperors" who led the Empire in an extended period of civil peace and prosperity lasting more than eight decades. Antoninus made few initial changes when he became emperor, leaving most of the programs and policies instituted by his predecessor Hadrian unaltered. Antoninus encouraged the arts and sciences, as well as sanctioning the construction of temples, theaters and mausoleums. This approximately 21 mm diameter coin struck in the name of Emperor Antoninus Pius comes from the recently discovered Golden Age Hoard of Roman Silver Denarii, which contains coinage that ranges from Trajan to Commodus (A.D. 98-192).

Stunning imagery and details

The bust of Antoninus Pius appears on the obverse, right facing, surrounded by a beaded border, and inscription with his title. Denarii of Antoninus Pius were struck with a variety of different reverse imagery, including a posthumous issue with imagery of an ornate four-tiered funeral pyre.

Graded Extremely Fine by NGC

The Ancient coin division of the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) graded this Silver Denarius of Antoninus Pius Extremely Fine. Similar to a coin graded 40 on the Sheldon Scale, the coin exhibits complete details with a few of the highest design elements worn flat. The Denarius is sealed in a NGC protective holder with certification label.

Don't wait to add this impressive Silver Denarius from the Golden Age Hoard to your ancient coin collection!

Outer Case broke
The coin comes in a hard outer case which contains a historical description of the coin and a picture of the emperor. It has several indentations in the outer case that leads a person to believe it can be opened. My attempt to open it however led to the outer case breaking. I tried to call customer support to get a new case and the woman I talked to was obtuse. She thought I was trying to open up the NGC slab that encases the actual coin. I tried to explain several times to her what I was talking about. She said that it was my problem and she could do nothing about it.
