Emperor Domitian, AD 81-96

Like other coins of this period, the obverse features a portrait of the ruling emperor. In this case, that is Domitian. He was the last of the Flavian dynasty, which ruled Rome from AD 69 to AD 96. His name can clearly be found among the inscriptions on the obverse. This large ancient bronze coin exhibits a choice and original green patina, highly desirable among collectors of ancient coins.

On the reverse, the figure of the Roman goddess Minerva appears. The large letters on each side of her, "SC" (Senatus Consulto) indicate that the Roman Senate authorized the production of this coin..
