Why purchase this Extremely Fine Billon Double Denarius of Roman Emperor Aurelian?

The Double Denarius, also known as an Antoninianus, was a radiate denomination originally introduced as an approximately fifty percent silver coin by Caracalla in A.D. 214. By A.D. 270, the coin had been debased to a small bronze coin with a thin silver wash. Emperor Aurelian restored the coin's size and issued the coin composed of billon, an alloy of bronze and silver in the proportion 20:1, also coated with a silver wash.

Incredibly detailed images of Emperor Aurelian

Emperor Aurelian is portrayed on the obverse, facing right, draped and cuirassed and wearing a radiate crown. The image is accompanied by the legend "IMP AVRELIANVS AVG," which represents "Commander Aurelian, the Emperor."

Illustrated on the reverse is a scene depicting the Emperor standing on the left holding a long staff, receiving the gift of a globe from Jupiter, surrounded by the inscription "IOVI CONSER," the Latin abbreviation for "Iovi Conservatori," which means "to Jupiter the Protector."
