Why order this Roll of 20 Type 2 2021 American 1 oz Silver Eagles?
The United States Mint celebrates the 35th anniversary of one of the world's most popular bullion coins, the American Silver Eagle, with the first major design change in the history of the series. John Mercanti's heraldic eagle reverse design was struck onto Silver Eagles early in the year, but mid-2021, that iconic reverse design was replaced by an Eagle Landing design created by Emily Damstra. These coins are part of the historic first-ever Type 2 American Silver Eagle issue. Collectors may want to combine them with the Type 1 coins that were struck early in 2021.

Obverse: As is tradition, the obverse of these coins features the iconic Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. Liberty is draped in the American flag as she carries laurel and oak branches while the morning sun begins to rise. Her name, "LIBERTY," arches over the image, while other inscriptions on this face include the date, "2021," and America's national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Adolph Weinman is best known for designing two of the most important coins of America's early 20th century numismatic renaissance, the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime. He was also a sculptor, and his work remains on displays in numerous American cities. The Type-2 Silver Eagle obverse carries Weinman's initials, "AW," for the first time in the history of the series, appearing below the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST."
Reverse: The reverse features a new design by Emily Damstra. Sculpted by Michael Gaudioso, it shows an eagle preparing to land with an oak branch in its talons. The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR," and the coin's metal content, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," are inscribed along the rim. Just inside the last of those is the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM."
