Why purchase this Roll of 20 2020 €1.5 Austria 1 oz Silver Philharmonic coins?
This Roll of 20 Silver Philharmonics offers collectors a convenient opportunity to add 20 beautiful oz of silver to their collections. The series, which began in 2008, celebrates the world famous Vienna Philharmonic, which is widely considered one of the world's greatest orchestras. It is a fitting subject for the bullion coin of a country that has produced such talented composers as Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Johann Strauss II, and, of course, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Each coin in this roll was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .999 fine silver at the historic Austrian Mint. The coins will all arrive in GEM Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Stunning Musical Instrument Designs by Thomas Pesendorfer
Thomas Pesendorfer created both the obverse and reverse designs for this series. The famous pipe organ from the home of the Vienna Philharmonic, the Winer Musikverein, dominates the obverse. The size of the imposing instrument is beautifully conveyed through the maximization of the available space. Arching over it is the name of the issuing country in its native German, "REPUBLIK OSTERREICH." Below the organ are three inscriptions, which note the coin's weight, "1 UNZE FEINSILBER," its date, "2020," and its face value, "1,50 EURO."
The reverse design consists of a selection of instruments from the orchestra. Four violins, a Viennese horn, and a harp are centered around a cello. At the top of the design between the bassoon and the harp is an inscription of the coin's metal, "SILBER." The name of the celebrated orchestra, "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER," is inscribed along the top half of the rim.
