Random Date $50 1 oz. Gold Buffalo
GEM BU (Sealed Original Mint Plastic)
Why add this Random Date GEM BU 1 oz. .9999 Gold Buffalo in Sealed Government Plastic to your collation
This Random Date 1 oz. Gold Buffalo provides you with one of the most cost effective options to add an ounce of gold bullion to your stack. The coin features the classic designs of James Earle Fraser that first appeared on the Buffalo nickel in 1913. Nearly the entirety of the obverse is taken up by a composite right-side portrait of a Native American. The portrait makes the man immediately recognizable as a Native American with feathers that adorn the back of the man’s head, long hair tied down over his shoulder, and well defined facial features. Unlike the proof version of the coin, this piece lacks a mint mark. On the reverse is the animal that gives the coin its name. The buffalo dominates this face of the coin, with its tail nearly touching the edge on the right and the top of its head doing the same on the left. Fraser’s use of the full face of the coin serves to convey the creature’s massive size. Three statutory inscriptions are included on the reverse in addition to inscriptions that provide the coin’s face value, “$50,” and its metal content, “1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD.”
