Important Note Concerning Order Cancellations

Due to the volume of emails we receive and our prompt shipping standards, order cancellations will not be accepted by email as we frequently have shipped orders before getting a chance to review emails. If you need to cancel an order, you are required to call 1.800.362.9004 between 9am and 2pm ET and within 24 hours of placing the order except if placed on a Saturday, then you will need to contact us by Monday morning.

International Customers

We accept orders from numerous countries around the globe. Please see MCM World for additional terms when ordering from outside the United States.

Payment Methods Accepted

We accept numerous payment methods. Please read and follow all of the terms for your chosen payment method carefully to ensure that your order can be processed as quickly as possible.

Paypal
  • We accept Paypal for most transactions.
  • After paying at PayPal.com, you must click 'continue' to finalize your order with us.
Credit Cards

All credit card orders are reviewed by our Trust and Safety team. Various forms of official documentation may be requested before your order can be processed and shipped. If the requested documentation is not provided MCM reserves the right to cancel the order. MCM also reserves the right to request a bank wire in place of a credit card payment if we deem it necessary.

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. We do not accept other credit cards at this time.
  • We do not electronically or manually store credit card information. Information must be completed each time you order.
  • Our website is verified secure, but if you prefer - call in your credit card orders - see "Order by Phone" below.
  • Maximum allowed credit card transaction is $25,000. All orders with a total exceeding $25,000 must be paid for with a check or bank wire.
Wire Transfer
  • Order total must be $1,000 or more.
  • 5% of the total dollar amount on the order is required at the point of sale. The deposit locks in the transaction, is not refundable, and must be paid for with a credit card.
  • Bank wires must be received within two business days. If the wire is not received within 3 business days, the order will be canceled at our option and the 5% deposit will be forfeited.
  • Market loss policy - If we incur a loss as a result of a customers failure to complete the transaction that exceeds the 5% deposit, the customer will be responsible for that loss and will be charged accordingly.
  • A wire transfer discount will apply to your order in most cases, and will be calculated into your cart total.
  • We reserve the right to disallow the wire transfer discount under some circumstances.
  • Some products are not eligible for wire transfer discounts. This is stated in the description of such items
Checks/Money Orders
  • There is a $300 minimum order amount on all checks or money orders. 5% of the total dollar amount on the order is required at the point of sale. The deposit locks in the transaction, is not refundable, and must be paid for with a credit card.
  • Checks and Money Orders must be received within five business days. If the check or money order is not received within 5 business days, the order will be canceled at our option and the 5% deposit will be forfeited.
  • Market loss policy - If we incur a loss as a result of a customers failure to complete the transaction that exceeds the 5% deposit, the customer will be responsible for that loss and will be charged accordingly.
  • Personal checks and Money Orders delay shipment by 10 to 14 days.
  • Please make checks and Money Orders payable to MCM.
  • Payment MUST be postmarked no later than the next business day after your order is submitted for processing.
  • All orders are held up to 7 business days after the check is received for clearance prior to shipment of the order.
  • We do not accept any checks that are related to credit cards, such as cash advance checks.
  • A check/money order discount will apply to your order in most cases, and will be calculated into your cart total.
  • We reserve the right to disallow the check/money order discount under some circumstances.
  • Some products are not eligible for check/money order discounts. This is stated in the description of such items
Order by Phone
  • Call 1.800.362.9004 to place an order during business hours.
  • Business hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Eastern time, Monday through Friday, and 10:00am-4:00pm Eastern time, Saturday. We are closed Sundays and holidays.
  • Our offices are closed on New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Cash
  • We DO NOT accept cash as a form of payment.

Visits by Appointment ONLY

We do not have a retail store showroom. We accept visitors BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call at least 48 hours in advance of your arrival to schedule an appointment to sell coins to us or pick up your orders.

UNSCHEDULED VISITORS WILL NOT BE SEEN BY OUR STAFF.

Our Return Policy

  • Not all items are returnable. Due to fluctuating prices which are the result of active trading, some items, including but not limited to bullion silver, gold, and platinum coins, bars, and rounds may not be returned or cancelled for any reason, but can be exchanged for the same item, if available.
  • In addition to bullion, there are other items from time to time that may not be returned or cancelled for any reason. However, in this case it will be noted in the listing description at the time of purchase.
  • Except when noted in the listing, non-bullion items are subject to a 14 day return policy. If you wish to return/exchange a non-bullion item you must call to confirm the return/exchange within 14 days of receiving your order. It is at our sole discretion to determine what constitutes a bullion item and/or a non-bullion item, and each return or exchange request is handled separately on a case by case basis.
  • Responsibility for return shipping charges on returned items is determined based on the individual situation, but generally if the return is because of a defective item or improper handling or fulfillment of your order, MCM will issue you a “RMA” (Return Merchandise Authorization) with a postage label for you to use in sending the item(s) back to us. If your return is for other reasons, it is likely we will require that you pay the return shipping for the item.
  • Once your return item is received, it is processed back into inventory, and at that time your exchange item or refund will be expeditiously processed. We cannot issue refunds or send exchange items before this step is completed.

Our Cancellation Policy

  • Once an order for any bullion product is placed it may not be cancelled for any reason.
  • Orders for Non-Bullion items may be cancelled by telephone only during normal business hours, provided the item(s) as not already shipped.
  • The determination of what constitutes a bullion item and a non-bullion item will be at the sole discretion of ModernCoinMart.

Our Market Loss Policy

For all bullion orders placed through ModernCoinMart, your price at the time of purchase is locked in, and will not be changed or adjusted. Orders for bullion items may not be cancelled for any reason. In any circumstance that a bullion order is cancelled and refunded, the buyer is fully responsible for the full difference between the purchase price and current selling price. The buyer will also be subject to a 5% bullion cancellation fee. Any market gains on returns are the property of MCM.

MCM Price Beat Policy

We will beat any competitor's price that is on our approved list of competing websites. That list will change from time to time. eBay is not considered a competing site. Dealers that have been in business for only short periods of time, or if in our opinion they are relatively unknown in the industry, will also not qualify.

Here's how it works:
  1. Price beat on bullion is at our discretion as prices change frequently and some sites are often out of date. Additionally, many dealers sell products they don't actually have in stock, a practice we do not engage in with bullion. Finally, determining the price at some sites is a complex process due to hidden fees and shipping charges that do not show up until the final stages of check out. MCM does not charge for domestic shipping and has no hidden fees.
  2. Customer must make sure that the other company is on our list of approved competitor sites. This can be done by asking us about that specific company on the phone or by email. Sales reps are not authorized to disclose our entire list. After you make that determination, email a link to the product to pricebeat@moderncoinmart.com or directly to your sales representative.
  3. The product must be in stock at our company and the competitor, and we may opt to beat on single quantities only. Price used for comparison is the "all-in" price with shipping included. MCM does not charge for domestic shipping.
  4. After all above criteria are met, you will be given a new price.
  5. We reserve the right to decline a price beat if we believe the price posted by the competitor is an error, outdated, or we attempt to buy the coins ourselves from them and are unable to make the purchase.

In order to utilize our Price Beat you must take advantage of it BEFORE actually purchasing the item(s).

Expedited handling/shipping is available to customers who have been with us longer than 6 months and who have placed at least 3 orders.

Please note that the charge for expedited handling and shipping for monster boxes is a flat fee of $139 per box.
