The example here was struck at the Philadelphia Branch of the U.S. Mint on a .900 pure silver planchet containing .3617 oz. of actual silver weight.

Lexington-Concord Sesqui Design

This is one of the more popular and widely collected issues of the U.S. Early Commemorative series. This coin was struck to mark the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, which began the Revolutionary War. The obverse of the coin features a Concord Minuteman soldier statue. The reverse of the coin features the Old Belfry from which Minutemen were alerted to action. The coin was designed by Chester Beach.
