Indo-Scythians Silver Tetradrachm of Azes I/II - After 58 BC NGC Ch Fine

This Indo-Scythians Azes Silver Tetradrachm is not only an excellent option for those who collect ancient coins, but it is of special interest to those who like coins that played significant roles in Biblical history. According to many Biblical scholars, Caspar, one of the three wise men who visited Jesus in Bethlehem, was sent as a representative of Azes II of Bactria. If that is the case, Tetradrachms would have been used to pay for his travels. This silver coin features an image of the king, Azes I, on horseback, while the image on the reverse illustrates the Greek influence on the Indo-Scythians, who lived in the area from modern day eastern Iran to northwestern India at the time. That image is of Athena, a shield, and a spear. If you are looking to add an ancient coin made of a precious metal to your collection, why not pick up this coin, which has a fascinating history, today?

Photo Policy: MCM attempts to display product images shown on the site as accurately as possible. We take all of our photos in house and due to reflections on the mirrored or proof surfaces of a coin there may appear to be 'black' when there is not. If a coin has a color on it at all it will be described as 'colorized' in the description or title. Due to the large inventory we sell, we use stock photos. Serial numbers will vary from the image shown unless specifically stated in the product listing that the item pictured is the item you will receive.

The value of the coin is not determined by its precious metal content.
