Why buy this 2021 American Silver Eagle Monster Box of 500 Coins?
This monster box of Silver Eagles offers an extremely efficient way to add 500 oz to your collection. The coins are part of a historic issue, as the reverse design of the bullion Silver Eagle will change for the first time in the history of the series later in 2021. This change marks the end of an era for the world's most popular bullion coin and an opportunity for collectors to own pieces from this historic issue, which are the last bullion American Silver Eagles to feature John Mercanti's original reverse design.
Patriotic Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Obverse: One of the most famous designs in American numismatic history, Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty, features on the obverse. Against a backdrop of the rising sun, Liberty bears laurel branches, which represent civilian honors, and oak branches, which represent those bestowed upon members of the military. The image is joined by the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "2021." Adolph Weinman designed two of the most famous coins of the 20th century, the Walking Liberty half dollar and the Mercury dime. Besides his numismatic work, Weinman also designed numerous sculptures that remain in prominent locations across America to this day.
Reverse: John Mercanti created the reverse design, modelling it off of the Great Seal of the United States. An eagle holds arrows and an olive branch while guarding a union shield under thirteen stars. The design is encircled by three rim inscriptions, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR." John Mercanti was the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint. Throughout his career, he designed more coins and medals than anyone else in the mint's history.
