Germania Mint Coins, Medals, & Bars

Established in 2018, the Germania Mint came about thanks to the vast experience over the last decade the Kurowski Group has had with thousands of international numismatic projects through its origins dating back to 1986. From the design and production of their unique coins to the marketing and distribution, Kurowski Group was originally responsible for all stages of development within the Germania Mint.

Today, owner Szymon Kurowski applies years of experience in numismatic packaging and coin production. Germania Mint is proud to create unique solutions for its unique products. Their caps, blisters, and wooden boxes are just a handful of accessories dedicated to each issue to ensure not only protective packaging but to also complement the story of each gold and silver medal from the Germania Mint.

In 2021, Germania Mint introduced to the global market their first Silver Cast Bars, which quickly became a sought-out collector’s item. As of today, the company is currently working on expanding its product range to include more sizes and variations of bars.

Where Is the Germania Mint Located?

Located in Poland, the Germania Mint originated when Apolinary Kurowski (father of the owner) established a numismatic store in Jelenia Góra, Poland. Since that time, the family business has evolved into a company of 200 people that has a vast global reach that produces coin packaging and finishing for roughly 500 leading numismatic companies, mints, and central banks around the world.

Germania Mint Coins and Medals

With the vision of becoming the most recognizable mint in the world, Germania Mint Coins and Medals push the limits of what is possible for collector coins and design. Germania Mint medals have metal content ranging from 1 oz all the way to 1 kg with a purity of 999.9 gold and silver that only supports their values of cooperation, people, innovation, and professionalism. Many Germania Mint releases utilize the now defunct denomination of the German Mark, which is no longer in use, resulting in an ornamental-only denomination that lends an official look to their medals and rounds which are not legal tender. The Germania Mint does sometimes partner with nations such as Niue and Malta to issue legal tender coins.

With five popular medal series - Germania, Allegories, Mythical Forest, Warriors, and Germania Beasts - Germania Mint has created some groundbreaking designs that push the limits of numismatic collections.

Germania Mint Allegories

Inspired by the power of femininity, the Germania Mint has created the most impressive series of medals, highlighting the extraordinary figures of “Mothers of Nations,” which ancient world leaders have turned to for protection and safety in times of disaster and war. The lead character visualizing the Germania Mint Allegories is a feminine personification of Germania; other allegories come from the goddess Athena, taking the Latin names of the ancient Roman provinces - Germania, Polonia, Britannia, and Italia.

Austria Allegory

In personifications of Austria and Germania, two young and beautiful women sit hand in hand to represent a closeness between the two Germanic cultures. In the past, Lady Austria was regarded as the epitome of the multi-ethnic country, and in this artistic vision from the Germania Mint, she holds a spear to symbolize the axis of the world, power, dignity, and honor, while her head is decorated with a laurel wreath. Germania, on the other hand, is crowned with a branch of an oak tree which has accompanied her in each medal within the Allegory series.

Britannia Allegory

The Britannia Allegory features a personification of two historical lands: Germania and Britannia. In previous editions, Germania holds a laurel wreath with a shield; however, in the newer Allegory Medals, her sword rests at peace in a scabbard on her waist, reaching out in a sensitive gesture to Britannia who wields her characteristic attributes in a Roman plumed helmet, a shield, and a trident referring to the former maritime power of her land.

Columbia Allegory

In a modern interpretation of both poetic personifications of America and the ancient Germanic land, in this chapter of the Allegories, the feminine symbols of the United States and Germania walk together towards the symbolic future of their common European past and tradition.

Italia Allegory

The personification of Italy is in a young woman with long, curly hair and a pleated dress highlighting her femininity. With a crown of mural-like towers, this represents the deities who watch over the city. The Horn of Plenty rests by her side to symbolize prosperity and wealth, and like all other Allegory Medal designs, Lady Italia is accompanied by the personification of Germania with her hand on Italia’s shoulder in a gesture of friendship between cultures.

Germania Mint Mythical Forest Collection

Humanity has had strong connections with nature and in particular trees, and can be found in nearly every religion, mythology, and tradition. In many myths, trees are a vital part of the structure of the universe. Gods and their messengers have traveled from their world to ours by climbing the tree.

Trees not only have numerous benefits that include clean air, filtered water, shade, and food, they are also a symbol of hope and courage to persevere. From their roots in the earth, trunk above the ground, and branches stretching skyward, all of these are symbolic, living links between our world and the world of the supernatural.

In a tribute to the power and mysticism of trees, the Germania Mint has launched 4 dedicated Germania Mint Medals Oak, Chestnut, Beech, and Linden.

Germania Mint Beasts

Legends are an inseparable part of every culture and civilization around the world. Many tales have been passed down throughout the generations, becoming an inseparable part of history. The history of Ancient Germania has some of the richest mythologies with the oldest and most terrifying creatures in Medieval Europe.

Germain Mint Warriors

Dark warriors are found in every land and culture as they live in legend. Among the nomadic peoples in Ancient Germania lived one of the cruelest fighters in history – The Germanic Warrior who was strong, fierce, and barbaric, serving the god Odin. Germanic translates directly into “Spear Man,” the spear being the most widely used weapon. Complementing this ancient weapon, warriors also carried swords and smaller blades for close-range combat while their black shields and painted bodies created fear as they ambushed their enemies at night to spread terror among their victims. Most Germanic warriors were Free Men; they weren’t servants to anyone and had the right to choose their own kings - leaders whom they respected and were ready to die for.

Germania Mint Medal Reverse Designs

Today, the Germania Mint creates some of the most unique products and designs that set new trends and standards for quality in world numismatics. In their designs, the mint refers to European history and German mythology that will always remain the greatest inspiration for Germania Mint Medals.

The Bicephalous Eagle

The two-headed eagle is a Roman mythological symbol that is associated with the god of all origins, guardian of doors, gates, passages, and bridges - Janus. Turned in opposite directions, the head symbolizes the past and the future, and the lightning held in the talons of the eagle is a divine attribute of strength, the power of creation, and destruction.

The Shield

Germania was a historical land and has never been an official country, which is why the Germania Mint decided to create their own coat of arms, representing moral principles and noble values. Although it is an imaginative coat, it has been created in accordance with applicable heraldry rules.

Divided into four parts, the crowned shield itself represents truth and loyalty which holds four other traditional values and meanings defined by heraldry. The crown resting on the top of the shield equals both authority and nobility as well as chivalry.

The Laurel Wreath

The symbol and prize for victory are inseparably associated with success and glorious achievements. While in ancient Greece athletes were honored with the Laurel Wreath, Romans crowned the heads of victorious commanders throughout their martial victories.

Germania Mint Silver Bars

Launched in early 2021, the Silver Cast Bars are Germania Mint’s first such product, making the bars gain popularity not only among stackers, but collectors as well, as they constantly expand their products to different weights, sizes, and designs.

Each Silver Cast Bar offered from Germania Mint is engraved with individual numbers and is protected by a hologram with an identification code to guarantee its authenticity which is then registered in Germania Mint’s database. By combining the two unique numbers found both on the engraved bars and holograms, the mint can easily verify a bar’s authenticity.

To protect them from external factors and contaminants, the bars are vacuum-sealed and are individually packed in specially designed boxes. This type of exclusive packaging with unique patterns and refined finishes not only accentuates them as items for a silver stack, but also adds appeal to them as collector pieces.

The very first Silver Cast Bars from the Germania Mint were the 999 silver 1000 g (Series A). Today, the mint has a full range of gram Silver Cast Bars exclusively made of 999.9 silver from LBMA certified sources (Series B).
