This Silver Tetradrachm, with an approximate diameter of 25 mm and weight of 17.16 grams, is among those struck during Alexander's lifetime.

Gods of Greek Mythology, Heracles and Zeus

The Greek hero Heracles is depicted right-facing on the obverse, his head protected by the skin of the Nemean Lion.

Zeus is featured on the reverse, seated on a throne with an eagle perched on his right hand. The inscription translates as "of Alexander." The position of Zeus' uncrossed legs is important to note, as this pose was only struck on lifetime issues of Alexander's coinage.
