Why add this Judaea Bronze Prutah of Maccabean Kings to your collection of ancient coins?

The Judaea Bronze Prutah of Maccabean Kings, the smallest bronze coin struck by the Jews in Jerusalem from 135-37 B.C., was circulated until the end of the first century. The coin is sought after for its mention in the New Testament of the Bible, and dubbed the "Widow's Mite" for the generosity of the poor Widow who cast two mites into the collection box - perhaps all she had to live on!

Religious symbolic imagery

The obverse depicts a double cornucopia with a pomegranate in the center. Symbols of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, the pomegranate was one of the most celebrated products of Palestine, brought to the temple as first-fruit offerings, and the cornucopia, or "horn of plenty," was one of the most revered religious symbols of the ancient world. A wreath is featured on the reverse, framing a Hebrew inscription.

Graded extremely fine by the NGC

This Judaea Bronze Prutah of Maccabean Kings is graded Extremely Fine (Sheldon Scale equivalent of 40) by the Ancient coin division of the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). This coin will exhibit complete details, with some of the highest features of the design worn flat. The coin is encapsulated in a NGC protective holder with certification label, and presented in a clear display case along with the Bible quote associated with the story of the "Widow's Mite."

This Widow's Mite struck 135-37 BC is a beautiful historic and religious treasure that belongs in your collection!

Judaea Bronze Prutah of Maccabean Kings (135-37 BC) - Widow's Mite - Cornucopias & Inscriptions - NGC XF (Story Vault)
The coin was really not in great shape. For the amount of money I was spending I expected a higher quality coin. This was not an extra fine coin. It was also extremely small. You have to disclose the size of the coin on your website.
