ModernCoinMart started out in 2004 as one of the first companies in the online bullion and modern coin market. While our focus was only those coins at the time, we have been growing to expand our selection to include vast amounts of Classic U.S. Coinage, U.S. Notes, and even a large number of ancient coins!

ModernCoinMart (MCM), one of the pioneers of the online bullion and modern coin market, was founded in 2004. It started out as a tight outfit with a strong focus on modern coins, a rather limited focus on old coins and no focus on notes at all. This was part of a well thought out, well executed strategy set in motion by the founding members – passionate Americans who were no strangers to hard work.

This strong focus on modern coins, coupled with hard work, innovation, competitive prices and excellent customer service, have helped the customer-centered MCM to stay ahead of the curve and develop into a multifaceted business. These factors, combined with the support of a growing army of loyal customers, have contributed immensely to MCM’s success in the marketplace.

This is why MCM is today seen as one of the uncontested market leaders when it comes to the wide selection of modern coins on offer. The MCM success story doesn’t end there, though.

Expansion of Product Line – A Wide Variety of Old Coins and Notes

The excellent news is that MCM has now expanded their product line to include a wide variety of old coins and notes. For lack of a better choice of words: the collector is now absolutely spoilt for choice.

This perfectly matches the company’s desire not to hard sell, but to rather offer the products people want at competitive prices, coupled with excellent customer service.

Growing Selection of Old Coins

The wide selection of old coins now offered include classic U.S. coins, and for the collector who is in search of ancient items, coins out of Ancient Rome and other places of antiquity. Pre-U.S. and other colonial coins are also occasionally added to the mix.

Classic US Coins – Vintage Coins from Yesteryear

Classic U.S. coins range from scarce pre-1933 classic US coins to more common post-1933 classic US coins. These vintage coins are in more than one instance available in both certified and non-certified product options, especially common date coins that form part of the “random date” product offerings.

In terms of certified classic product options, MCM only offers classic US coins certified and encapsulated by reputable coin grading companies such as the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).

This provides much needed peace of mind, while helping to ensure that MCM remains a trusted source of these classy, vintage coins. Coins that have, like old wine, matured into something highly collectible and sought after.

Ancient Coins – From Judea to Ancient Kingdoms

MCM has added - to the delight of those who seek coins that are truly vintage - ancient coins to the mix. We are working to greatly expand our selection even further, but a few ancient coins available for sale at the time of writing can be categorized as follow:

The bulk of these coins come certified and encapsulated by NGC Ancients. It is a division of NGC that focuses exclusively on the certification of ancient coins. This serves as a guaranty that the coins listed for sale are authentic.

Notes – US Paper Money - United States Currency

MCM now also offers notes in the form of certified and non-certified United States currency for sale. Our selection is always expanding, but some of our selection of U.S. paper money available for sale at the time of writing can be categorized as follow:

  • E.B. Wesley Hoard Notes – Notes collected by this 19th Century Newspaper editor have been found to be in uncirculated condition!
  • Federal Reserve Notes – Notes with especially large denominations that were used only for bank to bank transactions.
  • Gold and Silver Certificates – Large and small size certificates that could at some stage be exchanged for specified amounts of gold and silver.

The prices of products available in this product line cater to both small and large budgets. Prices range from less than a $100 to over $2000 per note. These make colorful additions to any collection.

Some of these notes have been graded by a division of NGC known as Paper Money Guaranty (PMG). They specialize in grading paper money and have numerous resources at their disposal that they use to make sure the notes are authentic.

Easier than Ever to Find What You Want

It is now easier than ever for the collector to find what he/she wants at highly competitive prices, including free domestic shipping. This is made possible via a secure, customer friendly, state of the art online interface (available 24/7, 365 days). Orders may also be placed by calling 1-800-362-9004 (toll-free number).

How many online coin and bullion dealers ship internationally? How many are willing to accept payment from both U.S. and non-U.S. PayPal accounts? MCM offers this and so much more, especially considering the wide variety of modern, classic, and ancient coins along with United States currency now available for sale.

There you have it: MCM is no longer focused on only modern coins, but also classic coins, ancient coins and paper money. Choose to become part of the MCM success story today!
