Why add this 2 oz. Silver Golden State Mint Aztec Calendar round to your collection?
This silver bullion round issued by the Golden State Mint is a celebration of the beauty, intricacy and mystery of the Aztec calendar. The round features imagery derived from the Sun Stone, a sculpture of the calendar created between 1502 and 1521. This 47 mm diameter Aztec Calendar round is struck from 2 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver.
Astoundingly Detailed Aztec Calendar Design
An exquisite replication of the Aztec Sun Stone is centered on the obverse. The focal point of the complex design symbolizes the sun, personified as the solar deity Tonatiuh. The deity is surrounded by concentric rings adorned with emblems signifying the days, months and specific periods of time on the Aztec calendar.
The reverse features a left facing representation of Cuauhtemoc wearing a stylized ceremonial headdress. Cuauhtemoc, whose name means "descending eagle," was the final emperor of the Aztec Empire. The portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions "TWO TROY OUNCES," "CUAUHTEMOC" and ".999 FINE SILVER." The image is framed by a crenelated border.

This 2 oz. Silver Round produced by the Golden State Mint is presented in Brilliant Uncirculated (GEM BU) condition.
