Why purchase this two-coin Roman Imperial Commemorative Set featuring Roma and Constantinopolis?

These two ancient bronze coins of the Roman Empire were minted under the authority of Emperor Constantine, commemorating the twin city goddesses of old and new Rome, Roma and Constantinopolis. Their portraits are clearly similar, derived from imagery of the Roman war goddess Minerva. The coins were likely struck sometime between A.D. 330-337, when Constantine established the newly dedicated capital of the Roman Empire in Constantinople. The coins included in this set weigh approximately 1.4-2.6 g, with diameters ranging from 15-19 mm.

Rare Reverse designs

The obverse of each coin features a helmeted goddess of the city, Constantinopolis and Roma, surrounded by the legends "CONSTAN TINOPOLIS" and "VRBS ROMA," respectively.

Each coin in the set portrays the same scarce reverse design, a celebration of the Roman Empire's military victory against the "barbarian" Goths in the fourth century A.D. "GLORIA EXERCITVS," meaning "the glory of the army," proudly borders the image of two triumphant soldiers standing at attention, with a standard between them.

Elegant Album with Certificate of Authenticity

The two ancient coins commemorating the goddesses Roma and Constantinopolis are presented in a distinctive fold-open album featuring a narrative titled "Rome's Fearsome Twin City Goddesses: Roma and Constantinopolis" which details the story of their evolution from the goddess Minerva, along with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

This exceptional set commemorating Roma and Constantinopolis will make an impressive addition to your ancient coin collection! Don't delay, purchase the beautifully packaged two-coin set from MCM today!
