The Intaglio Mint was established in 2010, and is headquartered in Sedalia, Colorado. In a short time, the Mint has become a highly respected industry leader in the fabrication of superior quality precious metal bullion products, which feature fascinating themes and well-developed designs. This beautifully assembled set includes five medals from the Mint's exciting series dedicated to Wild West Legends. The set is an homage to Davy Crockett, Buffalo Bill, Jesse James, Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp. Davy Crockett (1786-1836) was a frontiersman, soldier and politician who represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Buffalo Bill (1846-1917) received the U.S. Army Medal of Honor in 1872, but was best known for founding the cowboy themed Buffalo Bill's Wild West show which toured the U.S. and Europe. Jesse James (1847-1882) was a notorious outlaw, who travelled throughout the Midwest with multiple gangs robbing banks, stagecoaches and trains. Doc Holliday (1851-1887) was a doctor of dentistry, but was primarily recognized for his skill as a gunslinger. Wyatt Earp (1848-1929) was a well-known gambler and deputy marshal in Tombstone, Arizona. Holliday and Earp were both participants in the famous 1881 gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

Common Reverse: The reverse design features a complex array of Wild West relics, which include a coiled length of cowboy's rope, a sheriff's badge, a horned bull skull and two six-shooters, with a wind-blown banner in the foreground bearing a declaration of the series title "WILD WEST LEGENDS." The composition is complemented by a stylized sunburst in the background, with a small badge adorned with the Mint's name on the left and a pair of linked horseshoes on the right.
