Classic Liberty and Type 2 Bald Eagle
Obverse: This side of each 2022 Silver Eagle shows a classic Liberty design that made its first appearance on a U.S. coin in 1916. Adolph A. Weinman created this design, it's known as Walking Liberty. The date can be found near the bottom of this side. Type 2 Silver Eagles also notably include Weinman's artist initials, "AW," on the obverse.
Reverse: The Eagle Landing design is on this side. The reverse was designed by Emily Damstra and engraved by Michael Gaudioso. This version of the reverse replaced the heraldic bald eagle design by John Mercanti that was originally used for the series in mid-2021. This design shows an impressively detailed bald eagle as it prepares to land with an oak branch in its talons.
