Magnificent Patriotic Imagery

Obverse: Lady Liberty is illustrated walking towards the sunrise on the obverse, draped in an American flag while carrying an oak and laurel bouquet. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "2022," "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the artist's monogram "AW." The 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar was the first coin to feature this powerful rendition of Liberty by Adolph A. Weinman, a renowned early 20th century sculptor.

Reverse: The reverse is adorned with the image of an eagle clutching an oak branch, with its wings lifted as it prepares to land, surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," the Mint mark "W" and "ONE DOLLAR." Award-winning science illustrator and U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program member Emily Damstra is credited with the design. Ms. Damstra's design was rendered suitable for coinage in three-dimensional format by U.S. Mint sculptor/engraver Michael Gaudioso.

Each component in this 2022-W American Silver Eagle proof coin set was submitted to an independent third party grading service within twenty-four hours of release and judged to be in flawless Proof 70 condition. The silver dollars are encapsulated separately in attractive black core style sonically sealed protective holders, each with a First Day of Issue certification label signed by a person who has influenced the success of the Silver Eagle series. The single coin assessed by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) features a label signed by the Type-2 eagle landing designer Emily Damstra. The remaining three coins, which were reviewed by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), are accompanied by labels signed by Michael Gaudioso, engraver of the eagle landing design, David Ryder, the U.S. Mint Director during the development and launch of the Type-2 Silver Eagle variety, and John Mercanti, the creator of the Type-1 heraldic eagle graphic and the currently retired 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver.
