Why does this exceptionally graded 2021 American Silver Eagle 3-piece bullion coin set deserve a place in your collection of precious metals?
2021 is a milestone year for the U.S. Mint's American Silver Eagle series. Annually issued since 1986, imagery of the series has remained consistent, featuring a timeless rendition of Lady Liberty on the obverse, with a heraldic eagle on the reverse. In 2021, the heraldic eagle Type-1 reverse will be honorably retired, and replaced with a freshly designed Type-2 eagle image featuring the national bird preparing to land.
Gorgeous Type-2 American Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted on the obverse, walking towards the rising sun draped in the stars and stripes of the U.S. She carries a bouquet of oak and laurel branches, which are symbolic of strength, honor and triumph. Inscribed "LIBERTY," "2021" and "IN GOD WE TRUST." This time-honored personification of Liberty remains unaltered on the Type-2 Silver Eagle. However, for the first time ever, the initials "AW" appear, crediting sculptor Adolph A. Weinman with the design. The patriotic image was initially created for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar in 1916.
Reverse: An eagle in flight is centered on the reverse, with an oak tree branch in its grip. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" and "ONE DOLLAR." This stunning Type-2 Eagle Landing image was crafted by renowned illustrator Emily Damstra, who has also created nature themed designs for the Royal Canadian Mint and the United Nations Postal Administration.

Experts at Asset Marketing Services point to economic factors and historic coin revisions as driving interest in classic American Eagle coins to date.
Introduced simultaneously in 1986, the American Silver Eagle and American Gold Eagle -were both intended to create an American bullion coin that would compete with similar coins from other world mints. However, they soon became much more than that.
In October of 2019, U.S Mint officials announced that they will be introducing new designs for the American Silver Eagle and American Gold Eagle at some point in mid-2021.
