Type 1 and Type 2 Silver Eagles

Obverse: All three of these coins feature the Walking Liberty design on the obverse. However, there are differences between the Type 1 and Type 2 varieties. The easiest to spot is the addition of Adolph A. Weinman's initials on the Type 2 Silver Eagles. Unlike the Type 1 obverse, Weinman's initials are just below "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the Type 2 coins. Weinman was the original creator of the Walking Liberty design.

Reverse: The 2021 Type 1 Silver Eagle features John Mercanti's heraldic bald eagle design on the reverse. The 2021 Type 2 and 2022 Type 2 coins display the impressively detailed Eagle Landing design.
