Why add the 3-Coin Set of Toned 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollars From the Great Montana Collection NGC MS65 to your collection?
This 3-Coin Set of Toned 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollars from the Great Montana Collection has been graded Mint State 65 (MS65) by the industry leaders at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Each coin has the sought after Great Montana Collection pedigree. The New Orleans branch of the U.S. Mint was brought back online more than a decade after the Civil War ended primarily to strike silver coinage. The flagship coin struck during this second period of production was the Morgan Silver Dollar. Each Morgan was struck on a 90% silver planchet which contains .7724 oz. of bullion.
Stars Surround Liberty
The obverse features Liberty, facing left wearing a tiara inscribed "Liberty." She is surrounded by thirteen stars. The reverse features an eagle with wings spread. Beneath the eagle is a laurel wreath and beneath the central point of the wreath lies the iconic New Orleans "O" mintmark.
Toned and Pedigreed Brilliance
Toning is caused by the interaction of ambient oxygen, silver in the coin and incidental ambient chemicals. Toned coins are singularly unique and can comprise the most stunning portion of any collection. These toners are all graded at the solidly collectible MS65 "Gem Brilliant Uncirculated" level and feature the Great Montana Collection pedigree.
