Why order this Great Montana Collection Set of 3 Morgan Silver Dollars?
These three 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollars are all toned. They were found in the Great Montana Collection, which George Bouvier of Deer Lodge, Montana amassed over the course of his lifetime due to his mistrust of banks. The hoard was one of the great discoveries of recent decades, and now you have the chance to be a part of it! Each coin bears the "O" mint mark of the New Orleans Mint, where it was struck from .7734 troy oz. of .900 fine silver.
Historic Liberty Design by George T. Morgan
Both sides of these silver dollars were designed by George T. Morgan, from whom they get their name. Like many other historic coins, the obverse features a Liberty design. Unlike other coins minted before the start of the Morgan Silver Dollar run, it features an American-style Liberty rather than a Greek-style one. The figure has long hair that is largely covered by a Phrygian cap. She also wears a ribbon that bears her name and a crown made from two staple American crops, cotton and wheat. The reverse design consists of an eagle inside a laurel wreath.
Each of the coins in this set was graded Mint State 64 by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). That grade indicates that a coin has an above average strike and excellent eye appeal.
