Why Purchase This MS64 Toned 1883-O Great Montana Collection 3 Piece Morgan Silver Dollar Set?
Today, many collectors are drawn to Morgan silver dollars because of the history surrounding these coins as well as their eye appeal. These coins were minted annually for circulation from 1878 through 1904. The set offered here includes 3 Morgan dollars - each one was struck in 1883 at the New Orleans Mint. Mintage of these coins was moderate, but the coins in this set came from a hoard and they display toning. They were discovered among the coins of the Great Montana Collection in 1998.
Stunning Works of Art by Morgan
These coins take their name from their designer, George T. Morgan. The obverse displays his famous portrait of Liberty and the date. The date is among the 13 stars at the bottom of the design.
The "O" mintmark can be found on the reverse of each. It's located just between the bottom of the wreath and the face value. A powerful bald eagle can be seen within the wreath holding its wings high.
