Why Order This MS63 Toned 1883-O Great Montana Collection 3 Piece Morgan Silver Dollar Set?
The U.S. Mint struck Morgan silver dollars annually for circulation from 1878 through 1904. The Mint also struck these coins in 1921. The set of Morgan dollars offered here includes 3 coins. All 3 of them were struck in 1883 at the New Orleans Mint. There were 8,725,000 of these minted, which is one of the moderate figures of the series. The coins in this set display visible toning and they were taken from a hoard. They came from the Great Montana Collection, which was found in 1998. This hoard contained approximately 17,000 coins.
Morgan's Stunning Patriotic Works of Art
The obverse of each silver dollar in this set shows George T. Morgan's depiction of Liberty. She has wavy hair and is pictured facing the left. The date is at the bottom of the design.
The reverse features a design by Morgan as well. This side displays a bald eagle as it holds its wings high in the air. The words "IN GOD WE TRUST" are inscribed between the tips of its wings.
