Why Add This MS63 Toned 1883-O Great Montana Collection 3 Piece Morgan Silver Dollar Set to Your Collection?
When the Morgan silver dollar was issued for the first time in 1878, it was an intriguing time in United States history. These coins were issued for circulation annually through 1904 and then again in 1921. All 3 Morgan dollars in this set were struck at the New Orleans Mint in 1883. There were 8,725,000 of these minted, but the coins in this set stand out from others like them. Not only were they found as part of the Great Montana Collection, but they also have visible toning. As you may know, toning is the result of a natural process but only some coins experience it.
Morgan's Impressive Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
The obverse of each coin shows a classic depiction of Liberty. This detailed portrait is the work of George T. Morgan. The reverse was designed by Morgan as well, which is where the name Morgan dollar comes from.
If you're looking for the mintmark, it's located on the reverse just above the face value. This side displays a bald eagle with its chest out.
MS63 Toned CPCR 7020
The coins in this set were graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Each one received the grade of Mint State 63.
