Powerful Landing Eagle Design by Emily Damstra

Obverse: The Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman graces the obverse. Liberty is draped in the American flag as she carries laurel and oak branches in the early morning sun. Obverse inscriptions include her name, "LIBERTY," the date, "2023," and the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Adolph Weinman immigrated to the United States from Germany. A prolific sculptor, he was among the most important contributors to America's numismatic rebirth in the early 20th century. Weinman's artist initials, "AW," also appear on the obverse.

Reverse: The reverse features an eagle landing design by Emily Damstra. The national symbol carries an oak branch in its talons as it prepares to land. Inscriptions along the rim note the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the coin's face value, "ONE DOLLAR," and its metal content, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," while the statutory motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is included inside these inscriptions. Emily Damstra earned her MFA in science illustration at the University of Michigan. She provides botanical, anthropological, zoological, and other illustrations for a variety of clients.
