Regal King Charles III Design by Martin Jennings
Obverse: Martin Jennings's portrait of new British monarch King Charles III features on the obverse. Charles wears one of his crowns while facing left. His name and abbreviated Latin title, "CHARLES III D G REX F D" (King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith), are inscribed along the rim, as are the face value of the coin, "2 POUNDS," and the date, "2023." Martin Jennings is a British sculptor who works primarily with stone and bronze. He has sculpted the likes of George Orwell and Charles Dickens.
Reverse: On the reverse is an elaborate design by John Bergdahl. At the center is a crowned shield that bears emblems of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
