Powerful Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: The obverse features Adolph Weinman’s Walking Liberty design from the half dollar of the same name. Liberty carries laurel and oak branches in the early morning sun while draped in the American flag. Her name, “LIBERTY,” is inscribed on this face, as are the date, “2022,” and the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” Adolph Weinman was one of the most important figures in America’s early 20th century numismatic renaissance. His most famous contributions to the effort were the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: On the reverse, the national bird is depicted landing with an oak branch in its talons. The design is the work of Emily Damstra. The design is encircled by three rim inscriptions, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” while “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” a statutory motto, is also included on this face. Emily Damstra has an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan. She has been designing US coins since 2017.

The company graded this piece Proof 69 (PF 69), which indicates that it appears perfect to the naked eye. PCGS also certified this piece Deep Cameo (DCAM) and First Strikes (FS), the former indicating that it has deeply mirrored fields and the latter noting that it was submitted for grading within 30 days of its initial release from the mint.
