Breathtaking Silver Eagle Imagery
Obverse: The obverse is graced with the image of Lady Liberty walking while elegantly draped in the American flag. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “2022” and the monogram “AW,” which credits medallic sculptor Adolph A. Weinman for the patriotic design, which first appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: An eagle is centered on the reverse, preparing to land with its wings raised to slow its descent. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the “W” Mint mark. The Type-2 Eagle Landing graphic was created by Emily Damstra, an award-winning science illustrator and U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist.
