Exquisite Landing Eagle Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: As it has since the series began, Adolph Weinman's artist mark graces the obverse. Liberty is draped in the American flag as she carries branches while the morning sun begins to rise. "LIBERTY" is inscribed at the top, while other obverse inscriptions note the date, "2022," and the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST." Adolph Weinman was a prolific sculptor whose work is still on display in many American cities. His best known numismatic contributions are the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: Emily Damstra's Eagle Landing design features on the reverse. The finely detailed bird prepares to land carrying an oak branch. "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is inscribed in the lower right, while the name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," face value of the coin, "ONE DOLLAR," and its metal content, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," are inscribed along the rim. Emily Damstra graduated from the University of Michigan with an MFA. She has designed several coins, including commemoratives.
