Patriotic Eagle Landing Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: The coin's obverse bears Adolph Weinman's Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The morning sun begins to rise as Liberty carries laurel and oak branches. Obverse inscriptions include the central figure's name, "LIBERTY," the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date, "2022." Adolph Weinman was an immigrant from Ireland who was a prolific sculptor. He designed the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, as well as making other numismatic contributions.
Reverse: The reverse bears an Eagle Landing design by Emily Damstra that was introduced in mid-2021. The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the face value of the coin, "ONE DOLLAR," and its metal content, "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," are inscribed along the rim. The second statutory motto, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," is also included on this face. Emily Damstra got her MFA at the University of Michigan. She has created numerous designs that appear on American coins.
