Moving Juvenile Oak Tree Design by Donna Weaver
Obverse: Donna Weaver's obverse design was sculpted by Joseph Menna. It features a juvenile oak tree along with the inscription "WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH LIBERTY BLOSSOMS." Other obverse inscriptions include the date, "2022," and the two statutory mottoes, "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Donna Weaver served as a medallic artist at the Philadelphia Mint from 2000-2006. She has contributed designs for or sculpted more than 40 American coins and medals.
Reverse: On the reverse, which was designed by Patricia Lucas-Morris and sculpted by Don Everhart, an eagle flies with an oak branch. The coin's face value, "$100," and its weight and purity, "1 OZ. .9995 PLATINUM," are inscribed above and below the bird, respectively. The name of the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," arches over the image along the rim. Patricia Lucas-Morris has worked as a technical illustrator on Boeing projects and has illustrated books for SRA/McGraw-Hill. Collector John D. Merriam collected her work for a quarter of a century.
Flawless PF70 UC ER
This coin earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Proof 70. That means that it appears perfect as seen under 5x magnification. This proof was also certified both Ultra Cameo (UC) and Early Releases (ER). The UC certification credits the coin for exhibiting particularly sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while the ER designation credits the coin for the fact that it was submitted for grading within 30 days of its initial release from the mint.
