Walking Liberty and New Reverse
Obverse: The date is inscribed on this side of the coin. This design is the work of Adolph A. Weinman, it’s known as Walking Liberty. His artist initials, “AW,” debut on the Type 2 Silver Eagle design. It made its first appearance on the half dollar in the early 1900s and has been popular ever since.
Reverse: This side features the new design. The reverse shows a bald eagle with its wings partially back to descend near the end of its flight. The eagle has an oak branch in its talons.
PF70 UC First Releases
This coin was graded by the experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). Since it was found to be completely flawless, it was awarded a perfect Proof 70 grade. This specimen also received the Ultra Cameo designation for its impressive visual contrast and the First Releases designation for being submitted within 30 days of its release.
