Obverse: A right facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is located at the center of the obverse. A wide frame surrounding the portrait is inscribed with "ELIZABETH II," "AUSTRALIA," "1 OZ 9999 AG" "1 DOLLAR" and "2022." This rendition of the monarch, recognized as the fifth definitive coinage portrait, was created by award-winning British sculptor Jody Clark in 2015.

Reverse: The reverse features a Phoenix in flight with a paulownia flower in its beak, boasting the head of a pheasant, body of a mandarin duck, tail of a peacock, beak of a parrot and the wings of a swallow.
