Obverse: The obverse is graced with a stylized eagle, which is derived from the St. Wenceslas, Moravian, and Silesian birds of prey. The Mint mark of the Czech Mint is nestled between the eagle's feathers on the right. A shield-shaped badge is located at the center, bearing the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by the inscriptions "NIUE ISLAND," "2022," "ELIZABETH II" and "2 DOLLARS." The right facing image of the monarch was created by award-winning British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.

Reverse: An amazingly lifelike lion is depicted on the reverse, with its regal gaze focused intently forward and the crown of St. Wenceslas balanced upon its head. The inscriptions "1 OZ AG 999" and "CESKA REPUBLICA" curve below the impressive image.
