Why Choose This BU 2022 Negro Leagues Baseball Commemorative $5 Gold Coin in OGP?
Commemorative coins have been struck by the U.S. Mint to aid many excellent causes over the past few decades. In 2022, commemorative coins were minted honoring the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Negro National League, a professional baseball organization founded to circumvent African-American players being prohibited from joining other major leagues. The Negro National League was formed at the direction of Rube Foster in 1920. This $5 Negro Leagues Baseball gold commemorative was struck at the West Point Mint and bears its iconic "W" mint mark.
