Gold Designs Highlight the Decoration ItselfObverse: The obverse of the $5 gold coin features an image of the Purple Heart decoration as it appears today. Inscriptions on the obverse include "THE PURPLE HEART," the motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," "LIBERTY," the date "2022," and the poignant phrase, "A GRATEFUL NATION HONORS AND REMEMBERS." Reverse: The reverse of the $5 gold coin features the Military Badge of Merit. This decoration was the first Purple Heart decoration and was made of cloth. The decoration was suggested by and given by the Father of our country, George Washington. Inscriptions on this face include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," the date "1782," “BADGE OF MILITARY MERIT,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the denomination of the coin, “FIVE DOLLARS.” What is OGP?This proof coin is housed in original packaging from the United States Mint.
