Why Purchase This MS70 First Day of Issue 2022 Gold Eagle 4 Piece Set in Black Core Slabs with Ryder Signed Labels?
The American Gold Eagle was struck by the U.S. Mint for the first time in 1986. These coins were an immediate hit with collectors and stackers and that popularity has only grown over the decades. These annual coins are made of 22 karat gold. This series saw a big change during the 35th anniversary in 2021, that's when a new reverse design was introduced. Each of the Gold Eagles in this set were minted for 2022. These coins have a brilliant uncirculated finish.
Exquisite Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
Obverse: The date is inscribed on this side of each coin. The obverse of each Gold Eagle features a classic Liberty design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design first appeared on a circulating gold coin known as the Double Eagle in the early 1900s. Liberty is holding her torch high as the sun's rays reach from the background.
Reverse: The face value and gold weight of each Gold Eagle can be found on the reverse. The design on this side shows a side view of a single bald eagle. The level of detail that's visible here is breathtaking. This recently introduced design is the work of Jennie Norris and it replaced the previous "Family of Eagles" design in mid-2021.
