Gorgeously Detailed Imagery
Obverse: Centered on the obverse is the coat of arms representing Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar. The issuing nation of “GIBRALTAR” and the coin’s denomination of “1 POUND” are inscribed prominently above and below the emblem, while the additional inscriptions of “1 TROY OUNCE” and “999 FINE SILVER” flank the image. The year of issue is indicated as “20” and “22,” separated by the crowned lion at the pinnacle of the arms.
Reverse: The reverse features a scene set in a landscape of rough terrain, with jagged mountain peaks rising from the bank of a river. A majestic war elephant lumbers beside the river with its trunk raised, while carrying a legion of warriors armed with spears and clubs into an unseen battle. An intricate tribal patterned border frames the powerful image.
