Magnificent Dancing Dragon and Panda Design

Obverse: The obverse features one of Beijing's most famous landmarks, the Hal of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. The building stands in the Temple of Heaven. The date, "2022," is noted at the bottom of this face.

Reverse: On the reverse are three symbols associated with the holiday and the issuing nation. They are a dancing dragon, which performs at many of the celebrations, an adult panda, an iconic symbol of China, and the Chinese "Fu" symbol, which is displayed prominently during the holiday. A rim frame encircles these images. In it are a Chinese inscription, the name of the medal, "CHINESE NEW YEAR PANDA," and the proof's respective weight and purity.

Each piece in this set earned Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's (NGC's) highest grade, Proof 70. That grade is only given to pieces that appear perfect as seen under 5x magnification. Each piece was also certified Ultra Cameo (UC) and First Day of Issue (FDI). The UC designation credits a piece for exhibiting sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while the FDI certification means that the piece was submitted for grading within 24 hours of its official mint release.
