This huge proof Silver Panda was struck by China at their Shenyang Mint.
- This 1 kilo coin is made of .999 fine silver.
- Mintage of the 2022 1 kilo proof Silver Panda is limited to a maximum of 20,000.
- This specimen was graded by NGC and also comes with additional luxury packaging.
Growing Cubs on a Snowy Hill
Obverse: The inscriptions on this side state the date and issuing country. This side shows the Temple of Heaven design that is shared by coins of the series.
Reverse: The panda design is on the reverse and the artwork for 2022 is the work of Huang Qin. This design is sure to be a favorite for years to come, it shows a pair of playful panda cubs sliding down a snowy hill. Remember, this is also part of a series within the Panda series showing the growth of a panda cub into adulthood, a theme which began in 2019. This theme will run through at least 2028. China typically does not add privy marks to the Panda series except on very rare occasions, but that's just what they did for the 40th anniversary. This privy mark is in the left portion of the design. The design of the privy mark is a combination of "40" and the outline of a panda.
NGC PF70 UC First Releases with a White Core Slab and a Huang Signed Panda Label
The experts at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) found this 1 kilo silver proof to be completely flawless, so it was awarded a perfect Proof 70 (PF 70) grade. The Ultra Cameo (UC) designation was given for its superb visual contrast and the First Releases (FR) designation indicates it was submitted during its first 30 days of issue. This specimen was encapsulated in a white core slab that features a panda label that was signed by the creator of this year's panda design, Huang Qin. The artwork on the label shows two panda cubs relaxing in the snow. As mentioned, this coin also comes with some premium additions. On top of its original Certificate of Authenticity and box from China's Shenyang Mint, it also comes with an informational booklet about the series and a premium display box. The display box is designed to hold the slab that protects the coin.
